Pricing Manager Champion
The Pricing Manager Champion helps you analyze item costs, identify cost anomalies, and review cost breakdowns -- all through natural conversation.
Champion Focus
The Pricing Manager Champion gives you visibility into your item cost structure. Query items by type, cost elements, or attributes, and review Current Cost breakdowns across five categories -- no spreadsheets required.
What You Can Do
Query Item Costs
Search for items and see their Current Cost breakdown:
- By type: purchased (P), manufactured (M), or configured (C) items
- By cost elements: find items with zero or non-zero costs for any category
- By attributes: item group, buyer, supplier, product line
Cost queries return the Current Cost set for the site listed on the item's master record.
"Show purchased items with zero material cost"
"Find manufactured items in group MEDSUP"
"Show cost data for item 01010"
"Find items with no labor cost"
Review Cost Breakdowns
Every query returns a detailed breakdown across five cost categories:
| Category | What It Covers |
|---|---|
| Material | Raw material costs |
| Labor | Direct labor costs |
| Burden | Indirect manufacturing costs |
| Overhead | General overhead allocation |
| Subcontract | Outsourced work costs |
Each category shows This Level (TL), Lower Level (LL), and Total costs from the Current Cost set.
Add Comments
Document your cost reviews by adding comments to item activity feeds:
"Add a comment to item 01010: Reviewed standard costs per Q1 audit"
How It Works
Querying
- Describe what you are looking for -- the Champion supports flexible filter combinations
- Results appear in a table with all five cost categories from the Current Cost set
- The first 5 items are displayed in detail with the total count noted
Common Use Cases
Finding Cost Anomalies
Scenario: Identify manufactured items with missing material costs.
You: "Show manufactured items with zero TL material cost"
Champion: "Found 8 items:

MFG-001 | Bracket Assy | $0.00 | $12.50 | $12.50
MFG-002 | Housing Unit | $0.00 | $0.00 | $0.00
...
MFG-002 has zero cost at all levels."
Reviewing an Item's Cost Breakdown
Scenario: Check cost data for a specific item.
You: "Show costs for item 01010"
Champion: "Current costs for 01010:

Labor | $4.00 | $1.25 | $5.25
Burden | $2.00 | $0.75 | $2.75
Overhead | $1.50 | $0.50 | $2.00
Subcontract | $0.00 | $0.00 | $0.00"

- Verify the purchase/manufacture code (P/M/C) is correct for the items you are searching
